I think that Paul Pierce has already cemented his legacy with the Boston Celtics. I also think that theres no question that he will pass Larry Bird unless he gets injured of course. Larry Bird will always be the head man in boston unless someone really special comes along. 

I would have to give it to Paul,  stats or no stats.  He has more ways to score than Bird did and played on by far worse teams, beating double teams like he was a knife with legs and ball handling skills.  But an arguement could be made,  on the first BirdMan that he was more like a KG type of player when it came to changing the way your team plays with intense motivation...thats what I see from KG when he's on the court with Boston.  That being said,  I'd rather have Paul on my team. ( if I had Bird to,  he'd start at PF ) Sorry I typed this on your other blog, thinking I was posting on this one,  but here it is.

for one he has got to stay with the team, and which i think he will. And he has to stay healthy just like you guys said

That's a no brainer. Paul Pierce is going to pass him without a doubt. He has been taking the role of being the go to guy again without Kevin Garnett. He's also racking up a lot of points and rebounds. I'm not saying that Larry Bird is a bad player but he's going to get his spot taken away because of the stellar play of Paul Peirce. This guy is for real.Take it you deserve Paul Pierce. Your The man!

Pierce may surpass Bird in points but not surpass Larrys legacy. Him and Magic had the greatest contributions to the NBA. When you think celtics you think of either Russel or Bird. Pierce does not even come to mind. Although he is a great player for boston his legacy will never be as good as Larry the Legend

People will call me clam me and call me idiot for what I'm gonna say, but here it goes.

Paul Pierce may not be be better than Bird 5 on 5, but he's definitely better one on one.

JMO...

Points? Oh yeah.

Overall though? Until someone else blows my mind the Celtics will always run Bill Russell #1, Bird #2, and an honorable mention for Red who never played but made the Celts what they are.   All the other greats (and there are almost too many to name)  have to come after these three in my mind.
